Airpod Max

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much. Even after trying them out, my feeling stays pretty lukewarm. If someone asks, I’d probably say, ‘Hmm, not regretting it.’ Here’s why. ๐ŸŽง

I’m kinda into music. Not sure if I’m just interested or absolutely obsessed… Back in college, my earbuds were practically glued to my ears, and the volume was always cranked up to the max my ears could handle. Lucky for me, my hearing’s still intact! I’ve bought a fair share of headphones and earphones, cheap and pricey, wired and wireless alike. Once a rock-only listener, now I vibe with everything from idol music to classical and jazz. ๐ŸŽถ

With audio equipment, it’s not just about the quality of the gear; it’s also about the listener’s taste, preferred volume, and hearing ability. Reviews are all over the place, since everyone hears things differently. So, I’m just gonna jot down my personal takeaways from the headphones I’ve tried. ๐ŸŽง

At first listen, there’s no ‘wow’ factor. But hey, neither did the AirPods Pro. Overall, the sound is tidy and crisp, with no unwanted noise. The soundstage is surprisingly spacious for closed-back headphones. It’s not as open as some indoor open-back ones, but it doesn’t feel stifling. If you’re into orchestral or jazz, you’ll probably find it quite decent. The bass is deep and has a punch. It’s kinda funny, but even at low volumes, the driver diaphragm pushes air firmly. However, rock enthusiasts might be let down by its drum kicks. For rock lovers, I’d suggest giving these a pass. Remember how the HomePod amazed with its deep bass? This might appeal to hip-hop fans. But when mixed with fast mid-highs, it can get a bit chaotic. Be sure to listen before buying. Jazz was where it shined the most, but let’s be real, jazz is the music for headphone-buying self-justification. ๐Ÿ˜„

Beyond sound quality, if you’re an Apple device user, the H1 chip offers incredible convenience. Using a high-performance chip like the one in iPhone 4 just for headphone connection? Who knows, maybe a firmware update will let it connect to satellites or nuclear missiles. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Honestly, that’s why I bought it. My phone, iPad, and MacBook all seamlessly connect to wherever I want to listen. ๐Ÿ“ฑ๐Ÿ’ป

Bluetooth convenience has been crawling at a snail’s pace since its debut in 2002. Switching between multiple devices with headphones can be maddening. Sure, some devices offer multi-pairing, but I find them all inconvenient. If it doesn’t connect, I have to hold the tiny earbud pairing button for over 20 seconds. Annoying, right? In that regard, no regrets with both AirPods Pro and Max. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Let’s skip computational audio (spatial audio). It’s fascinating, but only works with Apple TV content or developer conference videos. Trust me, it won’t become mainstream before these headphones’ lifespan ends. But, with Dolby Atmos support and built-in accelerometer for head tracking, it’s not your average headphone. Content is scarce, so it’s hard to feel it, but that’s how it is. As for the case design… I’ll spare you the details. ๐Ÿ˜…

If you’ve got a lot of Apple gear, you probably won’t regret it. But sound-wise, it doesn’t scream value for money. Sony’s 1000XM series delivers great sound and oils up those rock drum sounds, so saying AirPods Max beats it is ridiculous. But hey, they’re pretty, right? ๐Ÿ˜

That’s all that matters. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Not recommended for those with a larger head. ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Sorry about that. ๐Ÿ˜…
