Choco Financier

Hey, aren’t you having a financier today?

The barista flashed me a smile as I stood in front of the counter. But honestly, I’ve never tasted a financier here before. It’s funny how sometimes people mistake me for someone else, and it always gives me this strange feeling. Maybe today, I’ll trust this doppelgänger of mine and see where it leads me.

‘Yes, please,’ I replied with a grin.

Next to the counter, I spotted financiers sprinkled with salt and others wrapped in chocolate. As I pondered my choice, she chimed in, ‘I’ll get you the seasonal espresso blend black and a choco financier.’ Seems like my lookalike customer always paired their coffee with a choco financier.🍫☕

As the coffee brewed, I tried to imagine this other customer, my mysterious twin, but no image came to mind. They might resemble me, but they are a complete stranger. Meanwhile, in front of me sat the usual coffee cup and a dessert plate I’d never seen before. The choco financier on the plate looked like a chocolate donut, and if I were ravenously hungry, I might’ve been tempted to nibble the plate too. Not today, though… 😋

The choco financier I ended up tasting was the best I’ve ever had in my life.✨
