Neck Tattoo

The rain makes my commute feel strangely uncomfortable. On the subway, the person behind me has been dripping water from their umbrella onto my thigh for the past ten minutes, and if this keeps up, the water might just climb up my back. As I was getting irritated by the situation, I suddenly spotted an intriguing neck tattoo and completely forgot about my wet pants.
A woman leaning against the door had a tattoo on her neck: a heart nestled in a heartbeat line. It seemed unfinished somehow, lacking the polish of a completed work. 🌧️

“Are neck tattoos really that pricey? If so, just give me a $20 worth, please.”

Or maybe,

“I have to rush off for an urgent client call. Let’s finish the rest next time…”

It seemed like an unfinished story. If it truly was complete, I’d love to color in that heart myself. I just hope it’s not the final version. 🙏

Speaking of neck tattoos, it reminds me of a female lawyer I worked with in the same building a few years ago. She sported a super short hairdo, and whenever we shared an elevator, even without trying, you couldn’t miss the tattoo of a heart character on her neck. Tattoos tend to turn a bluish shade over time, like a stamp on fresh pork, and hers was just like that. I wondered what heartache led her to get such a tattoo. Or maybe she just liked the character. 🤔

Anyway, I hope the girl from this morning finds the time to complete her tattoo soon. 🖤
