Beginning

A new Starbucks is gearing up to open in a place I pass by every day

A week ago, it was just an empty space with whitewashed walls, but today, tables are set up, and the POS and espresso machines are perfectly in place. The interior is almost done, and if it weren’t for the unpacked items on the tables, someone might just walk in and order a coffee ☕.

At a large table near the POS, two women who seem to be the manager and a barista are laughing as they sort sleeves and cups. Maybe it’s the sweet lighting or the fresh start vibe, but it looks cozy, warm, and happy. Perhaps tomorrow is their grand opening day. If that’s the case, when these two step back in tomorrow morning, this place will transform from

preparation to beginning,
from rehearsal to the main act,
from unplugged to plugged.

From the first bleary-eyed customer to the last one before closing, the space will fill with people. As they finish preparations today and step out, they’ll spend the longest and shortest night filled with anticipation for tomorrow, fulfillment from today’s hard work, and a hint of fear about this new start.

Maybe beginnings are thrilling because the outcome is still unknown. Just thinking about being their first customer tomorrow makes my heart race too.

‘Good Luck!’

I whispered silently to them in my heart. 🌟

But, the story goes that I overslept and missed being the first customer.
