The Beatles’ Final Song, ‘Now And Then’

Last night, a brand-new Beatles track was released! ๐ŸŽถ Although it was once slated for the Anthology project (a collection of unreleased Beatles tracks after John Lennon passed), it didn’t make it due to the poor quality of John’s recorded voice on tape. But now, over 20 years later, with the magic of technology, ‘Now And Then’ finally graces the world. โœจ Since then, George Harrison (1943~2001) has also passed, leaving Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr as the remaining Beatles members.

This single album also includes the Beatles’ debut single ‘Love Me Do (1962)’, truly marking the beginning and the end of an era. Unwrapping the album feels like projecting a film that captures the Beatles from cradle to grave. Sure, it might be called marketing, but to me, it resonates more as an act of respect and tribute to those who prepared it. ๐Ÿ’–

Brushing off the dust of memories shared with those we can no longer see, smoothing out the wrinkles, and laying them down gently.

On December 8, 1980, John Lennon’s death sealed his narrative like a time capsule, switching from live mode to memory mode. Yet, the stubborn ones switched it back, scraping at the time capsule to revive John’s dormant vocals. The deep learning tech used by Peter Jackson while crafting ‘Get Back’ (a documentary about the Beatles) to separate vocals and instruments from magnetic tape was the key to bringing ‘Now And Then’ to life. ๐ŸŽฅ They layered remastered John Lennon vocals with George Harrison’s past session guitar tracks, adding new drum and bass tracks from Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney. This song is truly the Beatles’ last piece, a collaboration between the past and the present. ๐ŸŒŸ

Encountering this song made me feel a sense of pride and warmth for those who strive to leave something behind, even in our finite existence. ๐ŸŒฑ

Living is pretty amazing.

Don’t you agree? ๐Ÿ˜Š
