Last night, the weather suddenly turned super chilly, and it caught me off guard. 🍂 Dressed in my autumn outfit, the surprise hit me hard. After having a drink, stepping outside felt like being in Oymyakon, the coldest village on Earth. Standing out there, I felt like I would spill all my ATM passwords as if threatened. Each step brought a sharp wind slicing through my clothes. The cold cleared my mind like crystal, but all I could think about was how freezing it was. Yet, it was proof of life. 📚 Patrick Ness once said, ‘How can you know you’re alive if you don’t feel pain?’ Well, you’ll know if it’s cold. ❄️
Now, onto the ‘foodie tales.’ A friend mentioned seeing a massive line at a humble eatery introduced by Sung Si-kyung on YouTube. I’m not usually a food enthusiast, but seeing a singer earning from non-music content annoyed me. Shouldn’t that space be left for regular folks? He’s got enough subscribers from his music, after all. Then again, his recent duet with Naul didn’t make much noise, which made me feel a bit better. 😌 But hey, I’m still a bit miffed. 🤨
This morning, I pondered if I had my own soul food. Suddenly, the image of a shabby sundae soup place near my physiotherapy clinic popped into my head. I tried it last week, and it was pretty decent. Sung Si-kyung often seemed to indulge in simple dishes like soup and boiled meat. So, I slowly headed out to that sundae soup spot. It was still freezing outside. 🥶
The place was small but somewhat bustling. Yet, not as crowded as the spot Sung Si-kyung featured. Should I film a sundae soup video here? Get ready, lady, I’ll bring a crowd your way. I propped my iPhone against the spoon holder and hit record. But it slipped and fell. ‘Darn it,’ I cursed, rendering the video unusable. This time, I positioned it securely with the spoon holder and started again. I took a few spoonfuls of soup. I felt I should say something, but the people around made me self-conscious. How did Sung Si-kyung manage to chat away so effortlessly? Maybe he’s just got a thick skin… 🤔
