‘Actually, I also have adenoma with dysplasia…‘
Looking online, ‘adenoma with dysplasia’ sounds bad, but the ‘also’ part means it’s supposedly okay. Still scary, though. Knowing I could claim insurance cheered me up a bit, but I have no idea how to file a claim. 😬
Starbucks Frequency Challenge (not much of a story…)
This year’s end, there wasn’t anything I really wanted. The diary looked cheap, and the pen didn’t appeal to me. Who hangs calendars these days anyway? Yet, I collected them all. I never realized picking from things I didn’t like could be so tough. 🤷♂️
I finally picked one, only to find out I had to make a reservation. Even if I visited, they wouldn’t give it right away. So, I made the reservation as instructed, but, cliché as it is, I forgot to pick it up. I had more important things on my mind. Then the reservation was canceled, and I couldn’t book another for a week due to a penalty. Can’t busy people make mistakes? I forgot, but I don’t like being treated like I need training. 😤
But I did get it in the end. Like I’m really going to use it. (Already opened it.) 🎁
Health
Since we’re talking health, let’s discuss my health check-up. About two weeks ago, I had a check-up including a gastroscopy and colonoscopy, and I got a message about removing two 0.3mm polyps. They mentioned ‘adenoma with dysplasia,’ and I was like, what even is that? At first, I thought the person sending the message was gently saying they had it too, to comfort me. 😅

Stress
Speaking of stress, I always thought I wasn’t the type to get stressed out. In daily life, there’s not much to stress over, and I usually don’t let work stress overlap into my personal life. I thought I didn’t, at least. Turns out, I just hadn’t been that stressed at work before. 😅
Last week, I was so stressed that on Saturday morning, I woke up with my ears feeling blocked, like being on a plane. Even trying to equalize didn’t help; the pressure wouldn’t go away. I spent the weekend feeling like I was underwater. By Monday, a detailed check at the hospital revealed low-frequency hearing loss. They said it would be fine in a few days, but the bigger concern was a dip in the 4k frequency range. 🎧
This won’t get better over time.
They asked if I worked on a construction site. Definitely not. I don’t have that kind of stamina. Such conditions usually happen to those exposed to loud noises daily. They asked if I listen to music loudly with earphones, and I almost slapped my knee—4k is right in the range of an electric guitar’s sharp tone. I always listen at full volume. 🎸
Having lived by the philosophy ‘rock fan, full volume, even if it kills your ears,’ the thought of losing my hearing made me reconsider. Forget being a fan, I didn’t even want to listen to music anymore. Health matters more, folks. (The stress-induced hearing loss got better in two days.) 🌟

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
The battle scenes were chaotic, but in between, I was shocked at how sleepy I felt. It’s hard to say it wasn’t fun, but I can definitely say it wasn’t entertaining. 🤔
Everyone’s falling flat, but the clumsy scientist, a culprit of global warming, survives till the end—honestly, kind of annoying. I’ve seen many hero tales where evil rises again, but this one felt uniquely futile. It’s like an ethics class textbook, the loudest and most boring hero movie I’ve watched. With Johnny Depp’s lawsuit wrapping up, Amber Heard keeps showing up, though she seems really tired. She must’ve been through a lot of stress. 😞
