Tiny Moments of Happiness in Print

These days, the internet is all about videos, not words. Even on YouTube, I find myself skimming through shorts instead of watching longer videos. Although I write on my blog, I rarely seek out others’ written posts online. Posts filled with photos and emojis are more for looking rather than reading, and AI-generated, soulless text can ruin my mood after just a few lines. Amidst this content chaos, it’s unlikely others are searching for my words either. This era sucks. ๐Ÿ˜’

After a long time, I logged into Brunch and found a notification. A comment had been left on a post I wrote ages ago. It’s proof that someone spent a precious three minutes reading my post. Reading that comment felt like receiving a reply from the universe to the Golden Record sent by Voyager, and naturally, I followed the link to read her post in return.

In one essay, she mentions stopping by a local snack shop for kimbap as the sun set. She then headed to a nearby park, listening to Bruno Major’s music while having a late dinner. It wasn’t a special day, but the blend of the park’s air and that song brought her unexpected tiny happiness. ๐ŸŒ…๐ŸŽถ

As I read her words, I wondered, ‘What was she feeling then?’ So I searched Bruno Major on YouTube and played the top song, ‘Nothing.’ Suddenly, the park’s vibe, the color of the sky, and the gentle noise nearby vividly surrounded me, and I had an inkling of the small happiness she felt.

Glad I logged into Brunch

With ‘Nothing’ on loop, I opened the window for the first time this year. The breeze wasn’t cold, hinting that spring is near. Curse you, global warming. ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ๐ŸŒธ
