I occasionally watch Na Young-seok PD’s YouTube channel. While the regular content is great, I find myself more attracted to the casual chats with actors or writers he’s worked with. They’re unexpectedly fun, and before I know it, time flies by. The clip of his drinking conversation with Lee Seo-jin was so much my style that I watched it twice. Then, I found myself watching an auto-played video of him chatting with an assistant PD, where Na Young-seok casually dropped a line amidst tales of blunders. 💬
‘We really worked hard when we were young.’
As I listened to the stories, it was clear they truly gave it their all. Meetings went on until 3 AM, and they had to prep for shoots starting at 6 AM. They’d catch some sleep fully dressed, afraid they wouldn’t wake up otherwise, or nap on benches near the filming locations right after meetings. And yet, they always started filming on time. 🌟
Reflecting on it, I realized I used to work hard too. Leaving work at midnight every day, showing up on weekends to code. Back then, it just seemed necessary, so I didn’t really remember it as tough. What annoyed me was not having time for music or movies. As those days dragged on, friends slowly drifted away. Even now, with more free time, I don’t meet friends often… I still can’t decide if that was wise or foolish. But one thing’s for sure: those times shaped who I am today. Maybe Na Young-seok’s idle chatter clips garnering countless clicks are also thanks to his past efforts. The wealth or fame might differ, but the peace of mind earned over time is what truly matters. Perhaps he and I share that sentiment. Although, I must admit, I’m a bit jealous of his weekly shoots with Mimi and Yujin… 🎥
Suddenly, out of envy, I decided not to watch his videos three times over. 😂
