Drawing Diary 2024-6-15

Had my first watermelon of the year ๐Ÿ‰. It’s funny how the first watermelon always sticks in your mind, but the last one, not so much. This got me curious about when I had my first one last year. But then

I can’t remember that either

There’s this bustling fishcake stand in the Jamsil Station underpass. Even when it looks packed, people somehow manage to snag those fishcakes like pros. It’s like their arms stretch out like a giraffe’s neck in a circus. ๐ŸŽช

Truly impressive!

My eyes have been bloodshot for over a week now and haven’t healed. The thought of living with beastly eyes forever freaked me out. My only charm, the mysterious depth of my eyes, now looks like a fiery pit. So, I decided to ditch YouTube, web surfing, Netflix, games, and everything else. Then

There’s nothing to do

So, I went to bed at 8 PM.

In the morning, my eyes were still red, but somehow the red veins seemed more evenly spread. The volcanic feeling was gone, replaced by a calm misty red vibe. Asked a friend at work to take a look.

‘Wow, it hasnโ€™t improved at all, huh?’

Did they think I wanted to hear that I hadn’t changed? Even a friend, who I hadn’t lunched with in ages, chimed in without me asking.

‘What’s up with your eyes? Creepy.’

I thought they looked a bit better, but it seems I was the only one.

Do people secretly think this is some kind of event to spice up the mundane daily life? ๐Ÿค”

So, that evening, I once again embraced a screen-free night. Tonight, I’ll read a book. Why did I think there was nothing to do yesterday? I actually love reading. Back in the day, Iโ€™d forgo meals just to dive into a book. Maybe I was a bit crazy. ๐Ÿ“š

While searching my bookshelf, the thought of my Kindle popped into my head. Bought a bunch when I was in the US, and carried them for so long my bag got heavier. Sometimes, I’d find them drained of battery. With its e-ink screen, the Kindle is perfect for my current situation. So, I pulled out my dead Kindle Oasis from the desk and started charging it.

Then I fell asleep ๐Ÿ˜ด

The next day, my eyes were still the same. A friend at work suggested, ‘Maybe you should look at some greenery?’ Good point. Being buried in this concrete jungle might be what’s messing with my eyes. My dad used to say that too.

‘If your eyes get tired from studying, look at nature.’

But since I wasn’t studying, I didn’t look at nature. Anyway, I took her advice and gazed at some green for a while, but

Still no improvement ๐Ÿ˜•
