Year-End Wrap-Up

We had a meeting at work to wrap up the year 🎉. We shared our achievements, cheered each other on for the hard work, and wished everyone a smooth journey to the next level in the coming year. After that, we got up a bit early to enjoy some delicious food together. We feasted on chicken stew and seafood until we were completely stuffed. There were some colleagues I hadn’t spoken to all year, but it was nice to chat and share stories. It had been ages since I stayed out for more than two rounds at a team dinner. After bidding farewell to those heading for a fourth round, I crashed at home without even washing up, and that night, martial law was declared.

Martial Law

He declared a state of emergency to protect our free nation from the threat of North Korean forces and to eradicate those shameless pro-North anti-state elements stealing our freedom and happiness. Watching the current political scene and debates, I find politics even more disheartening than before. Democracy should be about mutual respect and finding better paths through dialogue, yet those living off taxpayers’ money seem more focused on retaining power than serving the people. How can one not be frustrated? We live in times where politicians resort to declaring martial law out of anger rather than solving conflicts with understanding and tolerance.

Diary

Every year-end, I participate in the Starbucks diary frequency challenge without fail ☕📓. In the past, I tried hard to earn a few more by changing my habits, like grabbing a drink after lunch. But in recent years, I’ve been collecting the frequencies naturally during my usual visits. This way, I usually manage to snag one diary just in time. I use this diary throughout the year. Though it’s filled with nothing much but doodles, it’s a cherished part of my year-end ritual. I am diligently preparing for the next year as always.

Egyptian Adventure

A friend of mine just returned from a solo trip to Egypt 🌍. She bravely explored the pyramids and enjoyed scuba diving in Dahab. I wondered if it was dangerous, but she said, ‘Even though the UK issued a travel advisory, it’s really fine, isn’t it?’ Fair enough. When I asked what was most memorable, she said it was driving endlessly through the vast desert in a jeep. Immediately, I imagined sand getting into my clothes and my mouth feeling dry, but watching the video she shared, those thoughts vanished. It looked incredibly awesome! 🌟
