My little buddy is always hungry because he’s on a diet. So, when I get peckish, I sneak off to my room while he naps on the couch and quietly close the door to enjoy a snack. Yesterday, after making sure he was asleep on the living room sofa, I stealthily grabbed an orange from the fridge and headed to my room. Why am I so hungry in the evenings these days… 🤔
As I focused on peeling the orange quietly, I had a feeling… looked at the door, and there he was, staring at me. 🐶
‘You’re gonna share, right..?’
With those innocent puppy eyes. Once caught, I couldn’t resist those pitiful eyes. I split the orange in half and even in that moment, made him do ‘shake’, ‘high five’, and ‘lie down’. He gave the most earnest ‘lie down’ ever. If the floor had been styrofoam, he might’ve sunk halfway through it! 🤣
I pushed half the orange into his mouth and quickly stuffed the rest into mine. As soon as I swallowed, he trotted back to the living room, mission complete. But suddenly, my mouth was overtaken by the sourness of the orange, so intense it felt life-threatening! If it was this sour for me, wouldn’t it be dangerous for a pup that’s only 1/14 my weight? Suddenly, I was terrified. 😱
So, that night, I ended up staying up, lying under the living room sofa, making sure he was sleeping soundly, unable to catch a wink of sleep myself. 😴
(Turns out, the powerful citrus zest must’ve stirred his appetite because he slept soundly and woke up to devour a massive breakfast.) 🍊🥞
