Lamy T53 Crystal Bottle Ink 30ml

I decided to snag the Agate from Lamy’s 10-color crystal ink collection. Honestly, I wasn’t planning on buying ink. It all started when Coupang announced they were having a PlayStation 5 pre-order. Since the frenzy would end in a blink, I made a test purchase to find the fastest way to pay. 🎮

I used Coupay, and wow, I snagged the ink in a flash, but the PS5? Not even close, couldn’t even click the buy button. Anyway, Coupang, being the reliable service it is, shipped the ink via rocket delivery, and the very next day, the package was in my hands. 📦 The box was big enough to fit two cabbages, and for a moment, I wondered, “What did I buy again?” Once I opened it and retrieved the ink, I didn’t really need it at that moment, so I stashed it in a corner of my desk and forgot about it. 🤷‍♂️

Then, while organizing my desk over the weekend, an old digital camera popped up. It was my trusty RX1 from back in the day. Naturally, I wanted to see if it still worked, but thanks to COVID, I’ve been stuck at home with nothing worthy to capture. 📸 Oh, wait…

The ink wasn’t a limited edition, with only 100 sets made worldwide for the manufacturer’s 100th anniversary. Nope, it’s a common product found at the top of any ink search! But who cares? It’s the latest addition to my collection, and since I’ve started a new blog, here’s a little unboxing post.

Top: Lamy T52 Blue-Black / Middle: Lamy T53 Agate / Bottom: Monami Starry Night (Black)

Feeling adventurous, I emptied a fountain pen and filled it with the ink to try it out. At first, it was so faint I almost tossed it out, but the more I wrote, the more its charm grew on me. Definitely feels like it needs to be used on white paper, though! 📝

Honestly, it feels like I should wrap this up by talking about Coupang’s purchasing method and the old camera’s functionality, so here goes:

Coupang’s Coupay: Lightning-fast, but not great for high-demand buys. Old Sony R1: Still clicks beautifully but back into storage it goes.

Can’t end it like that, though. Just one more note: Lamy T53 Agate flows nicely and doesn’t smudge much, even with an F nib. (Though, the writing above was done with an EF nib.)
