It was a year ago today.
There it was, a post on the neighborhood café’s Instagram, suddenly announcing they were closing. The owner wrote that they would serve just until that day and apologized for not being able to say goodbye to everyone. My heart sank as soon as I saw the post, right after what felt like an endless meeting. It felt like hearing that Christmas would never come again on Earth. 🎄
Perhaps inertia is a concept that people embraced in human interactions even before it became a law of nature. 🌍
The hope that those we love will always be there.
The wish for familiar places to remain unchanged. 🏠
But, such wishes don’t come true. Change catches us off guard, leaving us with a bruise in our hearts. Even if I think, “I should’ve visited more often,” the fact remains that I can no longer savor the world’s most delicious cream latte. ☕️
Drink up while you still can. 💫
