Theft

I adore the light. Maybe, I’m in love with shadows too…

He spoke slowly.

‘I’m not particularly interested in the technical side of cameras, nor do I have the dedication to lug around huge lenses and cameras every day. The sole reason I take photos is this: every now and then, I stumble upon a beautiful moment. It’s like capturing a diorama in a glass box or spraying fixative on a finished oil painting. I want to preserve that scene in a tiny square, so later when I reminisce, I can see that exact moment unfold before my eyes…’

He continued,

‘When I was young, I was mesmerized by the myriad gradients and color variations between light and shadow in the forest. Leaves that seemed identical at first glance revealed themselves in the sun as pale green, deep green, translucent green, and even dark green beneath the shadows. This kaleidoscope of greens, some without names, made them unique. I’m not sure if it was the light, the shadow, or the dramatic contrast and intense change between the two that captivated me. But since then, whenever I experience a similar sensation, I find myself stopping in my tracks. And with a ‘click,’ I capture that scene with my eyes or my camera.’ 📸

‘…What are you talking about? Why did you steal the camera!!!’

With an irritated voice, the police officer shouted at the thief who ran off with a tourist’s camera at the resort.
