Bicycle

Lately, I’ve been riding my bicycle like there’s no tomorrow. 🚴‍♂️ Even on weekdays, if I didn’t have plans, I’d be out there every evening. (I rarely have plans, to be honest.) I probably rode more than those cycling club enthusiasts you see every weekend on the Han River, clad in wetsuit-like outfits. Some folks even wondered if I was training for a triathlon. (Not a chance)
But recently, life’s gotten a bit busy, and naturally, I stopped cycling. Surprisingly, after skipping a few weeks, life without a bike isn’t too bad. No more arriving drenched in sweat, desperate to head home, or dodging bugs flying into my eyes by the river. It’s not as dynamic, but it’s a quiet, peaceful life. Ah, the beauty of such a life, like a painting of serenity. 🌸

Speaking of bugs, when you’re speeding on a bike and a bug suddenly hits your eye, it’s tense. 🐜 If your vision’s blocked, it could lead to an accident. In such cases, I blink like crazy to crush the bug with my eyelid. Ruthless, I know.

Selfish Decision,
Cold Execution

These poor little bugs, with lifespans less than a week, finally get to spread their wings only to be squashed by a giant eyelid. Tragic. I know killing isn’t right, but I have to survive. Amitabha. 🙏

Hey, Max… A guy gets on the MTA here in L.A. and dies. Think anybody will notice?

This line was from the movie ‘Collateral,’ where killer Vincent, played by Tom Cruise, uttered it as he sat dying in a subway seat after being shot by taxi driver Max. Even as justice was served with the killer’s demise, it felt oddly melancholic. He managed to say a few words, but bugs don’t even get that chance. Not sure if they can speak, though… 🤔

Honestly, I wanted to share how I dramatically crashed less than thirty minutes into my ride yesterday, but life never goes as planned. Anyway, to briefly touch on an accident nobody cares about: the scars are ugly, but I survived. People say it could’ve been worse, but it hurts too much to just brush it off. 😢

Those action movie scenes where cars flip over, and the hero kicks the door open and gives chase again? Totally unrealistic! If you’re cycling and reading this, please ride safely and slowly. 🚴‍♀️
