Inside Out 2 Wasn’t My Thing

I remember being absolutely enchanted by Inside Out 1. The whimsical idea that independent entities control our emotions and that these dynamics determine how we express our feelings—it’s a bold and unscientific imagination. But the plot was so intricately woven that despite the biological inconsistencies, I was utterly absorbed in the story. It was genuinely a showcase of a unique imagination, different from any animal instinct.

That’s why I was torn about watching Inside Out 2. I couldn’t imagine it being any better. However, there’s a saying that experiencing something and regretting it is better than not experiencing it at all. So, with some time on a lazy weekend, I decided to give it a shot. Can I admit that halfway through, I wanted to walk out? 😅 It wasn’t entirely boring, but the plot was way too predictable. As an adult now, such light and shallow lessons don’t even make me blink. The idea that every experience shapes our identity is just too predictably cliché, isn’t it?

A friend once mentioned that they cried at the end of the movie but couldn’t figure out why. Back then, I didn’t get it, but now I totally understand.

Probably because it felt like a waste of time. (I felt the same way.)
